STAGECOACH has launched a new bus consultation for changes to its services across East Scotland.

The proposed changes come into effect on May 14 - if agreed - and the consultation runs until March 23.

I would urge is residents in his Tay bridgehead Ward, including Newport and Wormit, to have their say but I would urge everyone in the county to ensure they make their point.

Several residents in my Tay Bridgehead constituency have already contacted me to express concern over cuts to the 77B service.

My understanding is that the proposal would end the service during the day between 9am and 4pm. Earlier and later services would remain.

This cut has an impact on folk living 'up the hill' in Newport and Wormit, particularly Norwood and Crosshill Terrace.

Some residents have told me that the proposal makes them feel they will be cut-off.

I have no doubt there will be other services in different parts of Fife affected. If this is an important service for your readers I would urge them to have their say while there is still time.

Stagecoach have been known to make changes to their proposals based on feedback received in the past.

However, there is not a lot of time to digest the proposed changes and the window for commenting is also limited.

If residents are troubled by any of the other proposed changes please let me know as well.

COUNCILLOR JOHNNY TEPP.
