I WOULD like to draw your attention to our plight during the recent snowfall.

We were stuck in our house from Tuesday February 27 to the beginning of last week, one of the approximately 30 houses from Blair Drive down to Blair Street. There are old people and disabled people in 25 of these residences.

Due to to the snow we missed hospital appointments, my wife for the Queen Margaret and myself for the Victoria and another could not visit her husband in hospital.

The council say we are not a priority, do they expect us to be able to use grit bins for two feet of snow? Crazy.

To make matters worse we could see traffic moving on the main road to the motorway 50 yards away.

Our friends and family had to come through two or three feet of snow.

After many phone calls I contacted our local councillor Alex Campbell at his garage on the lunchtime of Sunday March 4 and explained our problems.

Within four hours we had a digger clearing the snow so at least we could get out and our grateful thanks to Alex Campbell.

We may consider a petition to get a gritter to come into Blair Drive as it passes the bottom of our street going into Blair Street, it does not make sense not to.

VAL FOX,

Blair Drive,

Kelty.
