WE heard last week that Cowdenbeath Recycling Centre, at Cuddyhouse Road, is to close for two days per week.

We are concerned by this decision as it poses a lot of questions. Things such as will this affect all of the sites in the county?

A lot of questions to be asked we think. Which days will the Cowdenbeath Centre be shut? Will other sites nearby be closing the same days?

Will adequate information be posted to inform the general public of the closures. The worst case scenario is people turning up on a day that it is closed. Where will the materials end up?

More than likely in a layby in the woodland areas, which we have found in the past, or thrown into farmers' fields?

We have seen this happen before with flytipping taking place. Also will this affect people's jobs?

Apart from all these issues this particular site is always kept tidy including approach roads. And above all else the staff are are first class and very helpful. It will be a sad loss even although it is just two days. The outcome could pose problems for the environment.
