IT was interesting to read about some of the problems being experienced by the rail commuters and users on the Fife Circle line.

ScotRail have had a few problems to answer over the past couple of years but it is really strange how there has been a bit of controversy over skipping stations.

That really is something that is a bit unfair on the passengers who have paid their fares and find themselves having to wait to be picked up.

It does not seem that either Cardenden, Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly stations have been involved in this and that is good news but I noticed in some stats published in the Times that the local stations do have some problems with the promptness of arrivals.

I have noticed in the national media quite a bit of discussion about ScotRail issues at the Scottish Parliament and it would seem that there have been problems of one sort or another all over the country.

So perhaps we have been lucky with our three stations but politicians have been right to put pressure on the rail company.

I seem to remember when we had British Rail it was given a lot of stick and it was contended quarter of a century ago that privatisation would sort that out.

Alas there have been problems both north and south of the border with services so it would seem that maybe private is not better.

From a Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly perspective we need reliable services to Edinburgh, that is the key and if that is achieved by Abellio they will get a thumbs up from most users, but if problems flare up that support will soon evaporate.

RAILER,

Kelty.
