THE Times article I read last week about unwelcome visitors to Cardenden was very right.

The village has some superb facilities just now and these have come through hard work by a lot of volunteers which has seen funding realised.

The John Thomson football park has taken about four years to come to fruition but arrive it has and it is a really smart facility.

To see the kids enjoying playing football there is a pleasure and it really is an asset to be proud of.

So to have people coming from outwith the village simply to cause bother is not good at all.

It is bad enough with the odd person causing problems at our village playparks from within our own community but the thought of people coming from as far away as Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy to damage things is wholly unacceptable.

The community council is quite right to be most unhappy at the situation and at least they have the community police team on their side.

Having read about the problems that communities like Cowdenbeath have it is certainly bad enough to have your own young people causing the odd problem or two without having folk coming from different parts of the district arriving to cause havoc.

Hopefully this was a just a passing problem and those who were involved in it will move on to another place. Certainly they are not welcome in Cardenden and hopefully they will stay well away from now on.

VILLAGER,

Cardenden.
