THE Avenue is fast becoming quite a situation in Lochgelly and perhaps one that the town's community council should be looking at.

On Monday of last week I found myself going up The Avenue and was stopped by the temporary traffic lights where the roadworks were taking place connected with the new building site.

When the lights changed I was able to go so far up the slope before being stopped, along with another car going up the way, by a small digger on the back of a lorry picking up rubble and soil.

It took the digger driver the best part of 10 minutes to complete his task and move away to the side of the road and let the us past. Then we saw that there were about eight cars waiting patiently on the other side.

However, I would say the bigger concern is how far the side of the road is going to stretch over reducing the overall width.

It could greatly reduce the amount of space vehicles have to pass each other on The Avenue, one of Lochgelly's busiest roads in the modern era and a bus route.

As someone who uses this useful stretch of road regularly it certainly is a worry that we might not have as much space as has been enjoyed in the past.

Certainly it is something that needs looking at for if we do not it will be done and dusted and there will be no way back.

No doubt other people have been affected by this too, hopefully something can be done before it is too late.

AVENUE MAN,

Lochgelly.
