THE carry on over this trial run by the council over picking up blue recycling bins one a month has been a bit of a waste of time.

It would seem the months of struggling by residents has been really unnecessary come the end of the trial.

To be honest the complaints by some users had to come for the fact is that as the blue bin is the busiest one of every householder and is the one that fills up fastest as well as being the smallest.

So all the problems experienced by the people in Glenrothes just told the bosses what they probably expected that blue bins have to be collected once a fortnight.

All that can really be said is that at least the council tried to find out what was likely to happen if they moved to a monthly collection throughout Fife and the idea was unworkable.

So while I personally would have said that there was no way that this project would work, at least the council gave it a go.

It is often said, if you don't try you will never find out so while it may have cost money at least they tried.

In my opinion the way we have things currently is the best way so I am happy that there will not be any change.

BIN MAN,

Lochgelly.
