I HAVE every sympathy for the people of Kelty and their problems with their health centre.

But I would like to contend that the problems that Lochgelly have were first to be tabled from this area.

No doubt Kelty is facing a big problem with its current Health Centre being too small to look at an extra 900 homes being built up there.

However, Lochgelly has had the problems of having a facility that is too small for several years.

Indeed, it seemed that last year things were moving forward quite successfully for us in Lochgelly with NHS Fife in a very supportive way backing the move.

It looked as if the Scottish Government were coming on to our side as well, but then all of a sudden we find that everything has been delayed for a further examination of the proposals and situation.

We now seem to be becalmed and the chances of things moving forward with any pace at all seem to have ended.

So the Scottish Government are going to have two local communities battling for a new health centre and of course our MSP is part of the Scottish Government structure.

So interesting times ahead but I just hope that Lochgelly stays in front of the race for a new health centre for the David Street facility is too small.

LOCHGELLY CASE,

Lochgelly.
