LOCHGELLY Community Christmas Lights Group would like to thank many people in connection with the switch-on on Wednesday November 22.

People such as Fife Council and the 4Winds Trust for grants received.

Also Ore Valley Housing Association, Kingdom Housing Association, Lochgelly Community Council, Benarty and Lochgelly Credit Union, S.M Bayne’s, Shades Salon, Spence Accountants, Mary Smith, All in one Tandoori, L&K Vapours, Nisa Supermarket, and the Kings Arms for their monetary donations.

Raffle prizes were donated by Central Fife Times, Black's Butchers, Fife Flowers, Top Knot Hairdressers, CK Hair, The Loft, Body Glo, Beauty Spot, Perfect Pooches, Rosewell Pharmacy, Special Occasions, Fishing Tackle Shop, Shardys, Coral Betting Shop, Lochgelly News Plus, Home'n Hardware, Pins and Needles, Golden Fry, Torley's Bar and Function Suite, Paige Wright's Barbers, Kooners, A&R Fish Bar, The Old Ship Inn, West End Bar, Cost Cutters, McColls North Street, Jean MacDonald and Gail Kirk.

We would also like to thank Lochgelly High School Pipe Band and Brass Ensemble for providing the music for the Carol Service and Parade. Major Mary Mc Donald, Lochgelly Salvation Army Corps for the Christmas Message. Karen Yeoman, Citizen of the Year; and Daniel Pratt, Junior Citizen of the Year for switching on the Christmas Tree Lights.

A special mention to Mr and Mrs Claus for distributing selection boxes to the children and listening to their long lists. Lochgelly Women’s Social Group, Lochgelly Community Shop, and Fife Council Youth Workers.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who worked very hard and to Lochgelly Community, who ventured out on a very cold and wet night to make this a fantastic occasion for the kids. We thank you all.
