HAVING attended the Cowdenbeath versus Buckie Thistle game at Central Park on Saturday July 15 I feel I need to say how appalled I was at the state of the seating in the visitors side of the stand.
I was there in a professional capacity, sitting in the press area, which was very dirty, clearly not having been cleaned since the last game of last season, but the area for the Buckie Thistle supporters was a disgrace.
There were huge areas covered in bird droppings, so bad that the supporters were unable to sit in certain parts.
I am fully aware that Cowdenbeath hire this stadium from the stock car company and, although there had been been no racing for four weeks, surely they had a duty of care to have the ground in a suitable condition for people to visit and for Cowdenbeath Football Club.
As the "stockies" resumed on Saturday July 22 I would have imagined that all the mess had been cleaned up ahead of the racing. If it was then I'm sure Cowden FC would have a claim for a rebate.
