VERY interesting to hear that the Cowdenbeath Environment Group are now concentrating on getting things looking good in the town for the visit of the Beautiful Fife judges.

The work that these volunteers put in is exceptional and really the town deserves better rankings than it gets.

When you read about some of the problems that the Environment Group come up against each year, especially in the Community Woodland, they do deserve medals.

The fires that we have been set in the past in the woods are really bad. Albeit these might not be big outbreaks but they cause damage and really should not be taking place.

Was it last year, or maybe the one before when planters were turned over in the High Street too, but they battle on regardless.

Each year the judges come to the town and Cowdenbeath gets a silver award, surely the time has come for a golden medal.

Considering the work that the volunteers carry out, Cowdenbeath is definitely looking good and with a bit of luck they might get upgraded this year.

Hopefully between now and the visit of the judges well will be left alone and when these important people arrive they will see things looking at their absolute best.

WOODLAND,

Cowdenbeath.
