CARDENDEN certainly seems to have problems with its play parks.

The picture that was in the Times certainly showed that the swings were really looking in not good shape at all.

But there are problems with so many of them in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area.

Mind you some are in excellent condition, like the one at Timmons Park, in Lochgelly, but I take my hat off to the mums in Cardenden who are trying to sort out the problem.

If they are successful then it could inspire parents groups in other parts of the district to do something similar.

There have to be people as committed as these in other parts of the area and it is amazing how in a short period of time they have got on top of the problem.

If, like they hope, the villagers of Cardenden get behind them then it could be they will find the means to get that play park near the primary school kitted out again and back into full action.

They are bound to find that there are ways of getting financial backing and with various fundraisers held in the village they could find they are on their way to success sooner rather than later.

PLAY PARKER,

Lochgelly.
