IF there is a possibility of a Mining Heritage Centre being built at Lochore Meadows Country Park it would also highlight social and industrial history, not just Benarty but also Fife.
The layout for the possible Centre could be a main exhibit area with a lecture room with wifi, ample storage space and very importantly easy access to members of the public.
It is hoped to gain support from local groups within the Benarty area and also outwith the area.
Support from academic people, politicians, both local and national, would also be very welcome.
The amount of people who visited in 2016 shows how popular the country park has become. Many people come from outwith Fife and indeed outwith Scotland.
The creation of a large Centre could possibly cause visitor/tourists to explore Fife.
Most importantly a heritage centre could attract visits from schools and various history groups from other area areas.
It is also important to note that 2017 is the year Heritage, History and Archaeology in Scotland.

vice chair Benarty Heritage Group.
