RECENTLY I wrote about the 'stray' Trident missile and the seven inoperable nuclear submarines.

On further research I find that in the last 64 years there has been 110 major 'nuclear incidents'.

I don't think I will be alone in asking what the hell is going on? For thousands of years the sword was the ultimate weapon, over the axe, spear and bow.

Some warriors named their sword 'widow maker' etc. The Holy Roman emperor, Cherlemange, named his sword 'Joyous', referring to all the souls it 'released'.

Then the most famous sword of all, Excalibur. The legend says 'the sword will rise and the King and knights sleeping in Avalon, will awake when the land needs them'.

Jesus said: "I will come again with fire and the sword'. Academics are all agreed both are clear references to Armageddon or 'End of Days'. All the signs are there.

Jews back in Israel, alignment of planets, star constellations, recently seven planets in row, all identical in size to Earth, capable of sustaining life were discovered. Coincidence?

The person who invented the bow was a genius. This was the first weapon of propulsion, followed by siege catapults, gun, cannon, rockets etc.

Then the Germans with their flying bombs which reached London from Germany.

After World War 2 the race was on for bigger and better, even after the horrors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All the world leaders with control of nuclear weapons are men, 'mine's bigger than your's'.

The Cuban missile crisis led us to the brink of World War 3. There was a scarier one in 1983 (full report next time).

Meanwhile we have the American boots on the ground in Iraq (for the third time), Russian boots in Syria, German boots in the Balkans, British boots (Nato) along the Russian border.

Since the election of Donald Trump as president the Domesday Clock, previously set at five minutes to midnight, now stands at two and a half minutes to midnight!

When will we ever learn? Quote from Shakespear, Richard III: 'Cry havoc, unleash the dogs of war!'
