SO ‘Fares’ (Jan 26) thinks that the ‘marriage’ between Scotrail and Stagecoach is worthy of praise and congratulations-are you kidding?

And does bad weather not affect buses as well as trains? It is nothing to do with what is best for the passengers, it is all about money.

The less said about Scotrail the better, except so they have any trains that actually work, ie start on time and arrive on time?As for Stagecoach ‘Fares’, instead of gushing about this ‘marriage’ her’s a simple test.

Try getting a bus to Queen Margaret Hospital or the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy in the school bus runs, morning and afternoon. You can’t! They are all tied up on the school bus run.

Stagecoach has a very lucrative contract from Fife Council for the school buses, but they cannot provide a service to hospitals during these times, because they do not have enough buses. This is evidenced during the school holidays.

That you have a surplus with buses leapfrogging each other for the duration of the holidays, so if you are elderly or infirm or disabled or a childand have outpatient appointments, Stagecoach and Fife Council’s attitude is ‘screw you’.

They are well aware of the situation regarding hospitals, they (Stagecoach) don’t care, it is all about the money!

As for Fife Council, of course we must get the children too and from school safely but it is being done as the expense of the sick and disabled!

In the film Stagecoach which made John Wayne, it was the stagecoach that got robbed, not the other way round.

Maybe I should send my Frenemy, the Hawk, a Battenburg cake (that is the one with a file in it) and ask him to pay the owners of Stagecoach another visit!

That is how it is supposed to work, the robber robs the stagecoach!

So ‘Fares’ this was clearly a very poor attempt at a PR stunt. To Fife Council get out of yout cozy offices and try and get a bus to these hospitals, morning and afternoon! Will they? Aye right. Will they hell.

Ballingry.
