THAT was interesting news that Stagecoach are providing back-up for Scotrail if there are problems on the track.
Basically if for any reason trains are cancelled then the arrangement allows a passenger to use their ticket to get a bus.
It will operate on routes involving the three local railway stations so it could be a big help to people using these.
For you never know when a signal break down is going to strike or the weather can turn nasty.
So it will provide very handy assistance to people who desperately need to get to a destination and the rail service is not working.
You have to praise the two companies for coming up with their idea to make this happen.
It shows that they are thinking about what is best for the passenger.
The plan is already up and running so it may be that already it has been used a few times.
We could still have a few difficult days weatherwise to come despite us approaching the end of January and that may provide some real help to people.
So well done Stagecoach and Scotrail it is a very good idea and one you should be congratulated about.
FARES,
Lochgelly.
