I WOULD hope that the new management structure at Lochore Meadows Country Park takes the facility forward in a swift progressive manner.

And the first thing they should do is ensure that Ian Laing is still Park manager.

It really has been quite a carry on over the past few weeks with the demise of the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust as the factors of the county's most popular visitor attraction.

The news 10 days ago that they were pulling out of the park was a bit of a shock.

But with all the carry on over the new visitor centre maybe it was no real surprise.

It would certainly seem that the Trust has been found wanting on that aspect of the park's development.

The new visitor centre is something which has to be sorted out because it is something which is key to the development of the facility.

No new visitor centre would be unthinkable because we simply have to see something in place by the summer.

When you will see thousands of people flooding into the park for things like the Pipe Band Contest to have not recognised park centre would indeed be a disaster.

So lets hope things happen quickly and we see a new management structure, a new centre and a new future for the Meedies.

MEEDIES VIEWER,

Ballingry.
