IT was great to see the dookers hitting the River Forth in aid of Cowdenbeath Civic Week.
They chose a lovely day for the Dook and it looked a really good event.
And how good to see one of the candidates for the forthcoming council elections involved.
Now I am no Tory supporter but to see Darren Watt taking part was excellent and if it earns him a few votes good luck to him.
I read in your article that Alex Haddow is thinking about stopping Dooking, well that would be a big, big loss.
Whether he is in the water or just behind the scenes Alex is a real mover and shaker behind everything to do with the Cowdenbeath Civic Week.
Hopefully he will be persuaded to stay in the water next January.
The Loony Dook is a good way to start the year's fundraising and it seems to set the trend.
No doubt the Civic Week Committee is already looking forward to their programme in June but funds will be needed to support these.
Without doubt the backing of the people of the town is really needed and hopefully that will be forthcoming at the events planned.
DOOKER FAN,
Cowdenbeath.
