IT was really amazing to see the article in the Times about the Town House in Lochgelly.
This has been a dominating building at the foot of High Street for so many decades and when the council moved out a few years back I was worried it would be left to rot.
Mercifully it became part of the new housing plan and has had new life breathed into it.
I am bound to say that the pictures the paper had of it inside certainly showed that it has a complete new lease of life.
I suppose it is difficult to really take on board that it will be the homes for people now.
It has a deep historic past with it being the home of Lochgelly Town Council and the many important decisions made by that body in the Burgh Chambers.
At least it now has a new role in the town and its striking appearance will remain at the foot of the High Street.
I only hope for the people of Cowdenbeath that some new role is found for their town house.
It also holds an important position on High Street but seems to be facing an uncertain future.
Surely it is two an important part of Cowdenbeath's history to be lost.
HIGH STREET VIEWS,
Lochgelly
