SINCE I last wrote to the Times the parking situation in Lochgelly has got worse.

In September I felt compelled to put pen to paper to about the chaos in East Main Street and Bank Street plus Francis Street every morning.

I noticed that someone from Cowdenbeath followed me up by commenting on the problems that exist there so it would seem to be something that is happening everywhere.

But recently we have had these road works in the Bank Street area which has been adding to the problems.

It really has been unbelievable the way folk have been parking vehicles around the Knockhill Close area and in Francis Street.

The problems involve people just dumping vehicles anywhere that suits them whether it be on the pavement or in disabled parking zones.

It would seem that the fact that you seldom see a parking attendant means that there is absolutely no deterrent to bad or illegal parking.

There is no way that this would have gone on if the parking attendants were still based at Cowdenbeath Police Station.

I see that plans for the new health centre in Lochgelly could see a new large parking area on the big grass area at Francis Street. Hopefully that might some soon for the way things are going we will never see an end to the parking chaos.

PARKER,

Lochgelly.
