IT is excellent to see the work starting on the improvements to Cowdenbeath High Street.
The project is set to see, over a six month period, significant changes to the look of the south end of the retail hub of the town.
Creating attractive features at Brunton Square and the Green Square will make a huge difference to the look of the town.
The Green Square will become a very attractive feature moving even more to being a place where people can meet and enjoy the ambience of pleasant surroundings.
It is also excellent that the mining history of Cowdenbeath is going to be very much part of the make-up of the items that will be included in the various features.
With hundreds of thousand of pounds being invested in this project it is another indication of how the town is not being forgotten, although the northern part of the High Street is still a cause for concern with North End Park undoubtedly a complete mess.
Things are looking up for the town and hopefully the people of the the former mining Burgh will enjoy what will emerge from all this over the coming months.
