THE plea to motorists using Perth Road, in Cowdenbeath last week issued by Councillor Darren Watt was one that should have an impact on people using this key link road in the town.
Any traffic wishing to go to Kelty has to go along Perth Road but there is certainly no excuse for the speed which takes vehicles across the road and into gardens.
But as one of our letter writers this week talks about, it is certainly not the only road in the town, nay or the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area, which suffers from speeders.
The Avenue was mentioned in Lochgelly, but Station Road in the town suffers from abusers of the speed limit, indeed all the way to Ballingry. Broad Street, in Cowdenbeath is another.
The police speed gun can not be everywhere in the district at one time and really it is the motorists themselves who have the answer to this problem.
People behaving sensibly behind the wheel is the way that this can be properly dealt with. There is simply no reason for people doing 50, or even 60, in a built up area. Over to you drivers.
