WE have two letter writers this week commenting on the lack of proper health centre facilities in their communities.

And it is indeed quite amazing that the two places are just four miles apart, but both have serious issues with their current facilities.

But the problem is that both Kelty and Lochgelly have house building proposals either taking place or in the pipeline.

Both the Kelty and Lochgelly health centres are at capacity or beyond and not really in any way ready for any increase in population.

Indeed, daily more houses are being built in Lochgelly with The Avenue Development starting to sprout now and eventually over 100 new homes will be at that site.

It certainly looks like the Scottish Government is going to be faced with a difficult decision on both these situations.

There is a major housing plan for 900 homes becalmed at the moment in Kelty and local politicians feel that this can't progress until a new health centre is constructed in the village.

So meantime campaigners in both Kelty and Lochgelly are ready to keep battling for the holy grail and hopefully the Scottish Government will not take long to back them both.
