THE row over the bollards in Cowdenbeath High Street showed that the original plan to make people think about the town's major thoroughfare worked.

The concerns expressed by Councillor Darren Watt and business people were things that came from the appearance of the coloured bollards and that was the idea, to bring ideas out on the way ahead for the High Street.

With the SUSTRANS project set to develop in the coming months through the development of the improved roads and pavement structure along with the Green Square, now is the time for people to make their feelings known on the way ahead.

It could be argued that £5,000 was a fair bit of money to be invested in the 'bollard project' but it has succeeded in getting a lot of people, not only those who live in the town, but throughout the whole district, thinking about the High Street.

That process is now consigned to the history books and the time has arrived when the new look to High Street is set to evolve.

In a few months time people can look back and consider their thoughts on if what has taken place will give the town a new lease of life. Hopefully it will.
