HOPEFULLY the community councils of the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area and the general public will rally around the Community Rail Partnership idea being promoted by Central Fife Community Safety Panel.

The Panel annual general meeting on Thursday week will be a key moment for the plan.

ScotRail is to present its proposals of £50,000 support over three years at the meeting at Cowdenbeath Police Station for community based ideas to improve the surroundings of the stations at Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Cardenden railway stations.

But the important thing is that it is the public make their ideas known so these can be taken on board.

The Panel will be the organisation which is to co-ordinate the Partnership and they will be open to all sort of ideas from everyone.

£50,000 is a lot of money to be split between the three stations and it is surely something that has to be taken advantage of.

It would be a real loss not to be able to take advantage of the chance to invest in our three stations which provide transport for thousands of people each year.

If you have an idea which could enhance one of the stations go along to the meeting at the Brunton House Police Station at 7pm on Thursday May 25.
