I CANNOT think of anyone not wishing the family of little Ava Stark every success in their quest to find a suitable donor in her quest for a donor of stem cells.

To have over 40,000 people come forward through the public appeal by the little girl's mum is simply testament the desire of people to help her.

Surely such is the number of people coming forward there will be someone out there who can help and become a donor.

Ava's story has touched the hearts of so many and seeing the picture of such a bubbly young girl has assured of such a response.

She is someone who deserves to get the break of finding the right person to donate the stem cells needed to make Ava's immune system ready to tackle the job it needs to.

There are many in this district prepared to take the test to see if they are a suitable donor and so many more in the UK taking the test.

I would really be such cruel luck not to find the person in the 16 to 30 age range who can help.

Now though, Ava and her family just need to wait until the tests are complete. It will be an awkward little time but one during which their friends and family will be able to offer the right support.

Thanks for the support

ON behalf of Benarty Heritage I would like to thank you for your splendid coverage of our exhibition regarding the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the closure of the Mary and Glencraig Collieries.

We got the feedback we needed to raise awareness of our long forgotten miners who once were a fundamental part of our small community!

The village tongues were sure wagging! Thank you again for all your help it was much appreciated!
