AFTER the last few weeks I feel as though it is appropriate to discuss the US presidential race which will come to a head in November.

This election, I feel, has both Democrats and Republicans finally agreeing on one thing, can't Obama stay for a third term. The infighting between senior Republicans and Donald Trump after recent controversies has almost been comical as they attempt to sink their own chances at winning the election in order to prevent The Donald from winning this tight race.

Despite Clinton's own controversies in the form of the email scandal and also her defeat of Bernie Sanders, it can almost be assumed that she will win the presidency as people are beginning to realise that love her or hate her she would of course be the better leader of the two main candidates because she actually has proper political policies in her manifesto.

Therefore I believe that Trump's reactionary stance to issues may win him serious support from Republican supporters, his stances on issues such as foreign policy with China and Mexico would make it extremely difficult for him to take any votes away from the Hispanic and educated groups who helped elect Obama in both 08 and 12.

His deplorable comments about women have also turned female supporters away from him, how many it is not yet known, whether they will still vote for Trump because of the R before his name on the ballot paper remains to be seen.

What is extremely interesting is the fact that neither candidate appears to be extremely popular among everyday Americans, and it may come down to voting for the lesser of two evils due to the Electoral College voting system used in the American Presidential elections, in short no matter who wins the presidency the party that wins the most seats in the Congress and Senate will be the real winner as they will control the balance of power in the US political system.

I predict a narrow Clinton victory, but it might go the other way so be prepared to volunteer for Elon Musks Mars colonisation project worse case, I know I'll certainly be considering it!
