THE worries over the potential isolation of two or three local communities from changes in the bus arrangements is something which is very much live.

The concerns being aired over Auchtertool being abandoned by the loss of the X26 service and also the effect that the end of this bus would have on the top part of Crossgates will be of some concern to local politicians.

The fact that people will struggle to go about their normal daily lives has to be something that is of concern in this day and age.

But unfortunately constraints on Fife Council's budgets means that there are real problems on subsidies being made available for some of the less used routes.

Clearly this is a real worry for people living in these communities, especially the likes of Auchtertool, but Ballingry looks like it will also be affected and of course Mossgreen is serviced by the same bus as Auchtertool.

The fact is that the council has to make savings to make ends meet and Stagecoach are reluctant to lose money on routes that are not the busiest.

So it seems that there are real problems going to occur about communities losing services.

People living in these villages are right to be disappointed and annoyed but unless people get around teh table and sort some alternative out the services will go.

Perhaps there is some way to have some sort of alternatives put in place but it will mean that some extra cash is going to have to be found from somewhere.
