AS work to redevelop the reception and entrance area at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, progresses, access to the outpatient clinic reception will temporarily change for ‘local’ outpatients.

As from Monday patients who have an outpatient clinic appointment should use the Minor Injuries Unit entrance at the side of the building to access the outpatient reception.

Access to the outpatient reception will not be available via the main entrance during this phase of the redevelopment work. Patients who use outpatient services elsewhere in the hospital are not affected by this change and should continue to use the main entrance as normal, including patients accessing Cardiology, Day Surgery, Haematology, Radiology, Sexual Health Fife, Dermatology, ICASS, Rehabilitation, the Cataract Unit, Endoscopy and Pain Management.

It is expected that this temporary change to outpatient clinic access will last until mid-June.

Margaret Henderson, Queen Margaret Development Project Lead, said, “We apologise for any inconvenience during these works and thank patients, visitors and staff for their understanding. The redevelopment of the main entrance and reception area will improve facilities and enhance the patient environment.”
