IT is back to the bread and butter of Barrs Irn Bru Second Division action this Saturday for Cowden after the glamour of the Scottish Cup.

But arguably, the home fixture with Ardrie United on Saturday is more important than the dramatic cup tie with Hibs.

Cowden's aim is to get back to the First Division in one season and victory over the Diamonds is a must this weekend.

Player/boss Colin Cameron was delighted with the way his men troubled the SPL side but is fully aware that the performance against Hibs will count for nothing against the battling Broomfielders.

He said this week, "I really could not have asked for more from the players than we saw against Hibs.

"We got a dramatic opener in the first minute but saw a 30 yard thunderbolt pull Hibs back into things and then gave away a bad second goal.

"We did not defend well at the third either but the lads rolled their sleeves up and quickly pulled themselves back into the tie and then dominated the game in the closing stages.

"A wee bit lack of craft in the last third of the pitch in the closing minutes cost usgetting level but Hibs certainly knew they were in a tie."

The manager is well aware that it is a case of back to the bread and butter this Saturday when Airdrie come to Central Park.

He added, "Last Saturday was a great occasion and provided some tremendousd entertainment but we have to be totally focused on getting three points this weekend. Airdrie are a side who know how to make things difficult for you and we will have to seek to be at our best to ensure we get the win we so dearly want.

"The league title is the most important item on our agenda so we will be working hard in training to ensure we are ready for this test."

The manager is still looking around for replacements for Jordan Morton and Kal Naismith but there were no new injury problems from Saturday and it is likely the starting eleven from the cup-tie will be given the nod this weekend, with Thomas O'Brien out for several weeks.
