BOWHILL War Memorial Club re-opened at the weekend after a generator was hired to power the building.
It's a temporary solution while the club's committee attempt to scramble funds to pay off an estimated £10,000 energy bill.
The Station Road club had been forced to close last weekend when the power was shut off suddenly.
But the show went on this weekend with a packed entertainment programme and club chairman Neil Chatham told the Times he was remaining optimistic for the future of the club.
"That's the only way to look at it," he said.
"We got the generator delivered on Friday so opened on Saturday and had a good weekend - there was a good response from people.
"We're going to have to use the generator until the bill are payed.
"If we've no power we can't trade to raise money so it's a Catch-22 situation.
"We're still waiting to get word back from Consumer Focus who wrote to (power suppliers) N-Power to see what they can do. Right now it's business as usual."
