BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was attacked on a Fife to Edinburgh train last month.
The 19-year-old man was attacked on 21st June on the 11.23pm Cardenden to Edinburgh Waverley service.
He was approached by three men and a woman who shouted abuse before pushing him to the ground and repeatedly punching him in the face.
He left the train at Haymarket but his attackers followed him and continued their assault.
He received injuries to his body and face, which led to bruising and swelling.
BTP Detective Constable David McAllister urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

What I would like to know is where the guard was when this was happening. On first scotrail the guards strike because they want to stop their management from reducing the amount of guards on the train. They are supposed to be there for the safety of passengers. I personally could count on one hand the amount of times I have my ticket checked on a train after 11pm. Passengers are entitled to be safe.
