Summer of fun for Cardenden and Cowdenbeath's kids is in full swing thanks to Fife Sports and Leisure Trust with a packed programme of summer activities.

As Fife's leading provider of sports and leisure facilities, the Trust is unveiling a fun collection of free and inexpensive programmes over the summer at each of its leisure centres, including Bowhill and Cowdenbeath Leisure Centres, to ensure kids are never stuck without things to do.

Bowhill and Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre have kicked off a selection of this year's summer activities, including free swimming for kids 17 and under.

Called "Splash Out for Nowt", free swimming for kids 17 and under in partnership with Fife Council lets kids keep cool in the summer heat and enjoy a variety of pool activities, including swimming lessons, giant aquarun inflatables and pool discos.

Also proving a huge draw for kids and great for parents, £1 per kid for racquet sports, called "Quid a Kid", and multi activity camps and sportshall inflatables give kids a great choice of ways to keep busy and have fun while keeping active.

Ed Watson, chief executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said, "We're looking forward to it being a busy summer at our facilities and are delighted to be able to provide the popular activities kids and parents enjoy so much.

"Our summer activities aim to keep kids happy, healthy and active over the summer break while also being easy on parents' wallets," he added.

Adults are being encouraged to join their kids in the fun and enjoy swimming lessons.
