Following on from the recent news surrounding the future of Cowdenbeath Football Club, a group of supporters have been in talks with the owners to try and secure the future of the Cowden.
And a public meeting to gauge support for the move is being held this Sunday.
The concerns over the Blue Brazil's future emerged about three weeks ago when the current owners, the Brewster family from the Lothians, circulated the other Fife senior clubs about the possibility of ground sharing.
This was due to continued problems with the width of the Central Park pitch due to the extension of the stock car track some years back.
Stuart Juner, spokesman for the supporters group, commented, "We have been speaking with the club owners and from this, we have had several meetings ourselves to look at the options we have to try to take this forward.
"Whilst we have backing from the supporters and local councillors, we realise that there is a great deal of work required to achieve what we all want - to secure the long term future of the club and have something that the community can be proud of as well as be actively involved in."
Stuart continued, "We have a club which is at the heart and hub of the town, yet people have distanced themselves from it for a various number of reasons.
"We have a club which should be more actively involved in the town and surrounding areas, yet only recently has this been identified and addressed.
"It would be easy to finger point and play the blame game on how the club is now in this situation but the fact is we are where we are and we need to look forward and not back.
"We have a few hundred loyal supporters who still push through the turnstiles at games but a lot more supporters who chose, for a number of reasons, not to go to the games.
"What we need now is for people to be aware, very aware, that the future of the club is at stake. If we do not succeed, or can't find a way forward, then Cowdenbeath Football Club will cease to exist in the next 12 months.
"We are in a very serious situation and if the club is to survive then we need help to stop that from happening. Fans should ask themselves what are they prepared to do? How can you help the club in it's hour of need?"
Stuart concluded, "Should we be successful then this could be a shot in the arm for the town of Cowdenbeath and the surrounding area were we have a new facility for the community to use and benefit from.
"Combine that with the development in the land at Central Park, it would be a boost to the town which has been long overdue".
The supporters group are calling a public meeting at Broad Street Bowling Club on Sunday. This is where all members of the community are requested to attend with speakers to be confirmed.
