On Sunday there will be two local lads, Craig Arnott and Colin Somerville, doing a charity run with a difference.

Craig Arnott is a member of the reserved forces and Colin Somerville is life long Cowdenbeath fan who works with First Scotrail as a ticket examiner, and on Sunday they are running the route of the Fife Circle train stations, visiting a total of 13 stations on their way, a distance of 39.5 miles, in one day.

This is to raise money for 'HELP FOR HEROES' and at the same time a charity 5K Fun Run will take place starting at Lochgelly High School and finishing at Central Park, Cowdenbeath, and it is hoped that 150 runners will participate.

Danny Lennon, manager of Cowdenbeath FC, has agreed to take part together with several Cowden players, depending on club duties.

After the running events there is a show on in the Lochgelly Town Hall starting at 4pm with top band Velour Amour the headline act with a disco on in between and after.

Businesses have expressed a serious interest in sponsoring a station a list of which are: Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath, Queen Margaret, Dunfermline, Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Aberdour, Burntisland, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy, Thornton and Cardenden and the fun run is being sponsored by the David Sands retail group.

The Lochgelly duo have been training for their Circle run for over three months and hope to finish their quest between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday.

Said Colin, "It should be a great day and hopefully all the 5k runners will enjoy their part in the fundraiser.

"The school will be opened at 9am on Sunday and the start is at ten, when both runs get underway, and goodie bags will be available at the end for the runners. The show at the town hall is at 4pm with tickets still available.

"After the fun run people will be shipped back to the High School to collect their gear".
