LOCHGELLY steps on to the international stage next week when it takes part in Scotland's Charrette series.
Acclaimed designer, Andres Duany, and his team head into town on Monday, 8th March, and Lochgelly is readying itself to take part in shaping its future development.
Using banners, posters, newsletters and postcards the aim is to stress the importance of getting involved with the Charrette process. And that message is meant for everyone in Lochgelly, whether young, old or in-between.
You can find out everything you need to know about the Charrette and how to take part in the process in an exclusive eight-page pull-out supplement in this week's Times.
Public meetings are taking place in the Town Hall on the evenings of Monday 8th, Thursday 11th, and Saturday 13th March between 7pm and 9pm. And the design studios between Tuesday 9th, and Friday 12th March are open to all between 10am and 7pm.
Councillor Jim Burke, vice-chair of the Fife Council planning committee commented, "This is a wonderful opportunity for Lochgelly and I would encourage all its residents, of all ages, to get involved and take part in shaping a town to be proud of."
Fife Council have set up a website dedicated to the Lochgelly Charrette which will provide a focal point for information, news and points of views. To find out all you need to know about the Charrette log on to www.scotlandcharrettelochgelly.co.uk.
And a two day workshop is taking place at Lochgelly West Primary School next Thursday, 4th and Friday 5th March which will involve pupils from all five local schools. This workshop will give pupils the chance to contribute their ideas to the Charrette.
