GENEROUS customers of Hill of Beath Post Office have raised £1150 for a charity helping the Haiti relief effort.
Dunfermline church the Vine Church's Lemonaid charity has carried out two mercy missions to the quake zone and Atif Majeed (45), postmaster, told the Times he was surprised at the amount raised.
"We put up a small notice in the shop for people to contribute funds to help fight the crisis," he said.
"I want to thank my customers for their generosity. It's a small village but we raised a lot with people putting their change and even notes into the fund."
Mr Majeed also received donations from friends in Kirkcaldy to help reach the figure.
