Park manager Bill Wilson presents the four star rating to Centre owner Nick McKendrick-Brown
STAFF at Lochore Meadows Equestrian Centre were this week celebrating the facility's four star rating by Visit Scotland.
The stables complex in the heart of the Lochore Meadows Country Park were awarded their rating following a rigorous inspection in November.
And the celebrations will come to a climax on Friday when a special equine event is to be held at the Centre.
Manager at the Equestrian Centre, Lynn Ferris, explained that in three years she and her team had managed to build the facility up from a small resource to one which caters for 500 clients per fortnight.
She said, "When we arrived three years ago there about a dozen or so ponies in the stables.
"Now we have 35 horses working in the riding school where we have three riding instructors who cater for our 500 clients who visit the Centre regularly."
Lynn added that they had just received word that they had now been awarded fully accredited training centre status for SVQ Level and the UK Coaching Certificate.
She added, "Our clients feature in all age groups and we have over 60 children involved in the Young Riders Club learning about how to look after the animals as well as how to ride them.
"The more the youngsters learn the more confident they become about getting into the saddle."
The Four Star Rating Celebration on Friday will take the form of a competition for senior girl riders.
There will be four disciplines involving dressage, showjumping, working winter, and pony club games and the overall winner will be the rider who catches the eye of the judges the most during the four events.
Added Lynn, "It should be a great day for all people taking part and I am sure that there will be some excellent performances."
