Gordon Brown is set to roll up his sleeves and get down to some voluntary work in his Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency.
Downing Street confirmed that the Prime Minister will spend part of his summer break volunteering after it was reported in a national newspaper.
The Guardian said Brown had told colleagues he wanted to spend a week doing community work as part of a month-long holiday.
Downing Street confirmed the story but said details would remain private.
A spokesman said, "The prime minister will be undertaking some community voluntary work during his time in his constituency.
"For obvious reasons he has agreed with the organisations concerned that any work he does will be private."
Brown began his summer break in Fife when he visited 'The Ecology Centre' near Kinghorn with his wife, Sarah, and their two young sons.
