Cannabis with a street value of £500 has been seized in Crosshill following a tip-off.

Officers raided homes in Castle Avenue and Meadows Court on Thursday, 25th June.

A 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal at Dunfermline.

Benarty Community Sergeant Stuart Clark, who was involved in the raid, said, 'Based on information supplied to us by the public we asked for drugs warrants which were granted for both houses. About 7.30 pm on Thursday night Benarty officers, along with specialist officers from the Force Search, PSU and Dog Teams, entered both properties and a complete search of the houses led to the discovery of over £500 worth of cannabis.'

He added, 'My officers and I are fully committed to reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs and arresting those who form part of the chain of supply. I would encourage the public to continue to come forward with information. I can assure them that we will act upon their information where grounds exist.'

Area Chief Inspector Ross Bennet, Cowdenbeath, said, 'These operations form part of the firm commitment that Fife Constabulary has made to reduce the harm caused by illegal drugs and builds on the recent successes in this area.'
