A YOUNG Lochgelly mum who died aged only 30, will be remembered at a special fund raising event being held in the town on Sunday 4th October.

Denise Easton fought cancer bravely over a considerable period but died last autumn and her many friends are planning to remember her with the charity show being held in Diamonds Bar, Bank Street.

Organiser Helen Bell said, “Denise was a lovely lady who fought cancer for some considerable time but died at the Victoria Hospice leaving three children.

“We want to remember her and at the same time raise money to place a memorial bench at in the hospice grounds and money for the Maggie’s Centre facility at the Vic.” A number of guest artistes have already pledged their support for the concert but it will be a real day of entertainment at Diamonds Bar.

There will also be adult face painting and drama enthusiast and Lochgelly High School pupil, Liam Nardone, plans to put on a short production with the help of some friends.

Added Helen, “We want it to be a special day and with Liam’s contribution it will be a different sort of fundraising event.” She added that a sponsored walk was also planned at a later date.
