KIRKCALDY and Cowdenbeath MP, Roger Mullin officially opened his new constituency office and said that his team were very much ready to help people who may need assistance.

His team features office manager Lynda Holton, Daniel Jones, Rod Cavanagh and his wife Barbara, who enjoys volunteering to help out.

A goodly gathering enjoyed a short opening ceremony when Roger said that he was delighted to see the consituency base established at Law’s Close, 343 High Street, in Kirkcaldy.

“After all the excitement of the election campaign, polling day and the results being announced, the hard fact was that we had to find a base, or bases, which would give constituents a place to go to talk about any problems they may be experiencing,” he said.

“I had hoped to have one office in Kirkcaldy and one in the Cowdenbeath area but we were told that the security aspect of that would not make it possible.

“However, we have been able to get this base at an accessible part of Kirkcaldy High Street and also we will have Rod in a constituency support officer role who will be out and about in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area to provide a key link in the chain. I must thank Lynda and everyone who have made this all possible for at one stage I thought, how is going to be put in place, but their hard work has paid off.” The MP added, “We have had a number of cases come to us already from all over the constituency and I am looking forward to providing as much assistance as I can for people.” Lynda and the team helped Roger hold an open day at the new office on Saturday which followed the beach Highland Games event in morning. Roger was delighted to receive a visit from Ballingry constituent Gordon Mackie, a keen artist, who produced a montage featuring the MP to put on the wall of his new office.
