A POPULAR Lochgelly snack and café business is going from strength to strength after opening brand new premises.

Mrs Brown’s Buns, run by owner Dianne Brown (45), last week moved from its Main Street home to Bank Street, right next door to the Times office!

With more tables and chairs for people to sit down and relax while eating their food, the café has been busier than ever before and Dianne is pleased about the response.

“I’m very chuffed,” she said. “It’s been great, it’s only been open for a few days!

“I first started the business in August 2013. I used to work in a shop like this and I thought that I could do it. But the other one wasn’t in the right place, there was only one table and no toilets! It was more of a takeaway.

“Here, we still have the option to take food away but the shop is full and sometimes we still have no seats because they’re all taken! But it’s good, I like being busy.” The shop sells a range of hot and cold foods, from filled rolls with bacon, black pudding, haggis and more to different selections of cold chicken with sauces. Dianne also offers breakfasts, cakes, hot dogs, paninis and an OAP special of a scone and a cup of tea for only £1.50!

“If we haven’t got it, we’ll try and make it,” she added. “And we’re really local - our sausages and burgers come from Tom Courts. It’s important to have fresh meat.”
