LOCHGELLY residents will have the chance to catch a closer glimpse of an exciting new proposed development at an open day next month.

Ore Valley Housing Association are putting on the event to allow people the opportunity to take a look at and discuss a new social housing development at the currently derelict Cook Square site.

There will be 3D mock-ups of the intended approach, a visual fly-through of the building to get an impression of the size and scale, even some of the technologies that might be used as new approaches to the building.

Nick Clark, business development manager at Ore Valley Housing Association, thinks the open day will be a great opportunity for local people to learn more about what’s going on with the regeneration of Lochgelly.

“We’re looking to get people’s opinions on the best fit for the regeneration of the area,” he said.

“It’s an opportunity for people to consider that and hopefully Fife Council will attend or give us some information as well so people can see the whole thing in one place.

“It’s a site that has sat derelict for a number of years and it’s seen as part of a stepping stone from the residential area to the retail area.

“It will be good for people to have their say on something that is part of the ongoing regeneration.” Refreshments, including tea and coffee will be provided at the event, where residents will be able to meet the team at Ore Valley and ECD Architects to discuss the proposed plans, as well as view the designs.

The open day takes place from 2.30pm-7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd February at the Ore Valley Business Centre in Main Street, Lochgelly.
