THE Lochgelly postal sorting office was busier than usual for the start of December post rush.

The Scottish National Party’s Annabelle Ewing, Member of the Scottish Parliament representing Mid Scotland and Fife, paid a visit to the Lochgelly Delivery Office to meet with staff as they gear up for the Christmas rush. Speaking after her visit, Ms Ewing said, “We are only at the very start of December and already our postal workers are busier than usual with packages and other Christmas mail. Everything seemed to be very busy indeed this morning at North Street but the system was running efficiently and the men and women of the Lochgelly Delivery Office are certainly working all out for the folk of the KY5 postcode area. And speaking of postcodes, we can all help to make postal workers’ jobs a little easier – and ensure that our mail gets where want it to go – by using postcodes wherever possible.” Ms Ewing added, “Royal Mail employees really do go the extra mile – sometimes quite literally – to ensure that all the post gets delivered on time during the festive season.

“So much can depend on a parcel getting to its destination and we all owe a big thank you to postal staff for the effort that they put in at this time of year.”
