THIS year’s Poppyscotland total was £5517 for the areas of Cowdenbeath, Cardenden, Kinglassie and Lochgelly.

Adrian Scott, the area organiser described it as ‘a fantastic effort’ and would like to thank all those involved, from the shops with the collecting tins on display, to the collectors on the streets and tin distributers and of course the army of counters.

Some ‘exceptional totals’ included the Cowdenbeath Morrisons store with £543.77; Gordons Pharmacy £50.40; Day-Today in Foulford Road £68.43; Baynes £92.71 and St.Bride’s Primary £69.10. Also Cardenden Co-op £116.08; Londis Dundonald £73.38; Key Store £69.70; Andrew Kirk Butchers £33.94, Cardenden Primary School £200.43. Kinglassie Co-op £118.96 and Lomond Pharmacy £30.13.

Lochgelly Co-op’s combined total was £363.39; Mossview Care home £113.49; Lochgelly Centre £76.31; The Card Shop £65.20; Old Ship Inn £91.32 and Lochgelly West Primary £59.78.

Both Beath High and Lochgelly High Schools raised over £150.
