PLOTHOLDERS in Lochgelly have been the target for thieves twice within a spell of four weeks.
The Brucefield plots are situated behind Lumphinnans Road and tools and a generator have been among the items taken by the raiders.
There are over 20 plots at the Brucefield site and five have been affected by the break-ins.
One of the plotholders who has seen his property broken-in to is David Hempseed, from Auchterderran Road, who said that he was fortunate that nothing was taken from his.
“They broke into my plot and caused quite a bit of damage to the entry door but left with nothing,” he said.
“The same happened to two others but a generator and a strimmer was stolen from the other plot and the genny was a fair size and you would need a van to remove that from the site.
“To me it looks as if is not about opportunists, it seems that this was a planned raid from people who have an idea of what they will find in the plots.” He added, “This is the second raid in four weeks for on that occasion a couple of power tools were stolen, so it is a bit worrying as the plots are pretty secluded behind Lumphinnans Road.” The police are investigating the break-ins.
