The chair of the Community Council, Stevie Murray, and I engaged extensively with Fife Council and the bus operators on the issue and both groups were very receptive regarding the concerns raised and we worked closely and extensively with them and the residents, for a solution, which has resulted in the bus service being reinstated, starting from Monday 18th August.” Chairperson, Stevie Murray, commented, “The bus service was a valuable service and was sorely missed by the residents that depended on it on a daily basis, so it is very welcome news that it has now been reintroduced, and we are glad we were able to work closely with residents, Fife Council and Stagecoach to resolve the issue.” He added, “It is thanks to Jean that this has now been resolved, and the Lochgelly Community Council will continue to move forward, identifying issues in the local community with the aim to address these for the improvement and betterment of the town.
