THE latest phase of work to redevelop the new reception area at Queen Margaret Hospital has been completed with a variety of new facilities available for patients and visitors.

Work to transform the main entrance and reception area into a more modern and welcoming environment has already seen the completion of the Aroma Coffee Shop, which opened to patients and visitors some weeks ago and now the new reception desk is open, along with enhanced patient and visitor toilet facilities; new infant feeding facilities; new infant change facilities; and in addition, accommodation for a new Carer’s Information Hub has been completed. The Hub, which is set to provide information on organisations offering support and advice to carers along with wider health information, will be developed over the next few months.

Meanwhile, from Monday, patients attending outpatient clinic appointments will be able to access the outpatient reception via the main entrance and will no longer have to use the Minor Injuries Unit entrance at the side of the building.

Margaret Henderson, Queen Margaret Development Project Lead, said, “Over the last few months there have been a number of changes to the main reception area and entrance while we redevelop facilities for patients and visitors. We’re grateful that patients, staff and visitors have been so understanding while we’ve undertaken these works”.
