A MAN has gone on trial accused of raping a woman at a house party in Lochgelly.

Gordon Cowan denies the charge and has lodged a special defence claiming any sexual activity between him and the complainer was consensual.

Cowan, 27, is also charged with pushing and struggling with the woman causing her to fall to the floor and striking her head.

He is also charged that he kissed her face and mouth and bit her neck before raping her, then grabbing her by the hair and push her head against a toilet seat, all to her injury.

Cowan, currently a prisoner at Perth, is alleged by the Crown to have raped the woman at an address in Lochgelly on April 22 last year.
